We are delighted that the Pilot (Namiki) Falcon is now officially available in Europe. This classic design features a 14k gold, rhodium-plated "soft" nib that creates a degree of flexibility rarely found in modern fountain pens. Brass construction with gloss lacquer coating. The Falcon takes PILOT cartridges or the CON-70 push button converter (supplied).

Pilot make resin and metal versions of the Falcon, however only the metal version is sold here in the UK.
It's a weighty pen. The body is 19g and the cap is 14g.
The body and cap are metal, the section is still resin.
It looks rather boring in photos and the nib looks odd, but don't let this put you off.
In reality it is elegant, understated and beautifully made.
It is long enough to use unposted, and feels well balanced in the hand.
The soft medium nib on mine is glassy smooth and very bouncy, but it probably has less flex than you are expecting.
It is definitely usable as a daily writer.
It is quite easy to get line variation of a nib size, eg from medium to broad.
The included converter uses a vacuum mechanism, and works very well.
If the writing experience is your primary concern then this pen is hard to beat in my view.

UK postage is FREE over £35 but otherwise starts at £1.80 for small items (converters, refills etc) or £3.30 for ink, stationery etc.
Overseas shipping starts at only £4.00. The exact cost varies by price, weight and delivery country so to find out your final shipping cost just add the item to your shopping basket and select the delivery country. You don't have to enter any personal details - just an e-mail address but this isn't stored unless you create an account. We offer a choice of shipping services from Royal Mail and DHL.
VAT (at 20%) is automatically taken off for destinations outside the UK. Note that if you are ordering within the EU you will have to pay VAT when your parcel arrives.
Availability

If we show the pen with the default nib selection shown in stock it means we have stock of that pen. If you select another nib size and the website doesn't say "in stock" we can usually supply that pen immediately as we keep extensive supplies of nibs from all our manufacturers.
I love this pen!
I absolutely love this pen. I bought a pilot custom heritage when on sale a couple of years ago and it soon became a writing favourite. I bout this as I liked the sound of the weighty body - but I wasn't expecting this fabulous nib. I write with a fine nib. the flexibility in thie soft nib just makes you want to write all the time! An absolute pleasure. I prefer it to the more expensive custom heritage, first the weight, second the nib and third the finish. I think it looks really nice in a business meeting. A truly wonderful pen.
