TWSBI 580 Series

TWSBI Diamond 580 is a transparent fountain pen with a piston ink-filling system with a huge 1.9cc ink capacity and by fusing the traditional mechanisms of the fountain pen with a modern industrial design TWSBI have created an eye-catching fountain pen. 

The idea behind the Diamond 530, 540 and 580 fountain pen was to go back to basics and capture the simplicity and elegance of traditional writing instruments their goal is to bring the past back to life by creating a traditional fountain pen that even modern day society can appreciate.   The Diamond 580 is virtually unique amongst fountain pens in that it can be completely disassembled by the user for cleaning and servicing and experienced users are encouraged to do so. Full servicing instructions are included with the pen as well as a small wrench to remove the piston mechanism and a bottle of silicone lubricant for the piston mechanism (download manual here).

The TWSBI 580 is the upgraded replacement for the Diamond 540. Same size, same features but improved in many areas. Both front sections and barrel now feature trim rings for reinforcement. Also, the metal threaded part that held the piston mechanism has been deleted with the result that the barrel material is thicker and therefore stronger in this region. The TWSBI 580 features the same piston mechanism and huge 1.9cc ink capacity - the largest of any pen in this price range.  For a smaller pen see the Diamond Mini.

The TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR is an enhanced version of the TWSBI Diamond 580 AL that features anodised aluminium piston parts and matching grip section with gently ribbed texture.
