What a fabulous shop for fountain pens! I decided to buy a TWSBI Vac Mini clear (F). Have lots of other fountain pens but have fallen out of love with them, because some of them have been used so much they now need service. Normally, I only buy fountain pens in a shop where I can test them, but the newest newsletter enticed me to try TWSBI, because so much of the maintenance can be done by the user and replacement nibs are available to purchase. The vac system took some time to learn, but is quite easy once learned. The small size iof the mini is perfect for my hand and the pen writes smoothly. Will probably buy more of the same pen, because I have different coloured inks going at the same time, because I mark student essays with a fountain pen in cursive handwriting, much to the chagrin of my students who can barely read anything other than printed text.I also bought three colours of the Diamine shimmering fountain pen inks and I absolutely love them!. I already own a ridiculous number of inks, but this one might be a contender for a firm favourite. Hope they make more colours, especially a pink colour would be perfect. I prefer not to mark essays in red, because it seems to scare students so I go for happy, vibrant colours so students don't stress out before they have read the feedback on their essays.
