Martin at the Writing Desk has just customised the nib of one my Mont Blanc 149 to straight cursive italic style. He has done it with extreme precision. It was my aspiration to write italic with the 149 but Mont Blanc only offers an oblique style. I will be asking Martin to do customise more of Mont Blanc nibs to this style. Thank you again.

Genuine Lamy ball-point refills arrived next day, perfectly wrapped. The refills were far less expensive than those on Amazon and show that specialist small businesses still 'have the edge'!

I'm so glad I found The Writing Desk. Here in Finland there aren't many brands of fountain pens available nowadays, and even few options of inks. I was amazed by all the colours and brands of ink The Writing Desk sells, and I purchased from them already 3 times this summer. Dear Anna & Martin, Received the two TWSBI 580 nibs & inkwell, today - all excellent. I particularly like TWSBI's innovative design for the inkwell - ideal for all fountain pens; simple operation- you'd consider that this Taiwanese company had been around for a great deal longer - it's this kind of un-fussy, subtle design that make them so appealing & cost effective. For many years I tried to get a proper Italic nib on a fountain pen, as a result I have built a large collection of the top of the range fountain pens with what I was sold as an italic nib but none was satisfactory until I came across the Writing Desk where Martin can customise the nibs to various styles including a Cursive Italic. This is a real beautiful italic style. Martin has already customised for me several of my nibs, I use them for writing italic, calligraphy and even joined hand writing. I would recommend this nib style to any one who has an interest in hand writing.

I recently purchased a Parker Duofold Centennial from Martin and Anna. They have always provided me with a top quality, and friendly service. On this occasion, I asked Martin to grind the (Broad) nib into a Cursive Italic. When you have a specific cut done, you're not always sure what the nib is going to turn out like. If you've just purchased an expensive pen, this can be a bit nerve-racking until you get the pen, and write it. On this occasion, the Cursive Italic Nib wrote wonderfully. It is the second Cursive Italic I've had made by the Writing Desk, and I now feel confident that I can order the modification again. All nib workers go about the job in different ways, producing grinds that are unique to them. The grounds nibs I've received from Martin, at The Writing Desk, suit my style of writing, and have been of a high and consistent quality. I love writing with them, and next time I ask for a modification, I won't be worrying. Many thanks.
